Thank you for an amazing 2025 and welcome to 2026!
A new year is here, and we have lots of exciting things to look forward to this spring term, including three home tournaments:
• U16 Cup – January 25
• VSS – February 28
• 4-player tournament – April 11–12
It’s going to be great fun and will provide important income for the club. But to make it happen, we need your help as parents (and for VSS, also players).
We need support with:
• Tournament management
• Scorekeeping
• Café
• Hall hosts
• Before and after tournaments: setting up/taking down nets and cleaning
This applies to all three tournaments.
And there’s more!
For the fourth year in a row, we’re planning a summer camp for 6-player teams – a really fun and valuable experience for our players. But for it to happen, we need more people to help plan and run the camp. Otherwise, there’s a risk it won’t take place this summer.
Important to know:
Everything in the club – from board and coaches to café, sales, and tournament work – is done on a voluntary basis. Swedish sports rely on volunteers. A few people can’t do everything, but everyone can do something. The club has grown a lot in recent years, and in 2025 we increased by almost 50% more players, but still have the same number of people actively involved. That equation doesn’t quite add up.
We who work and engage in the club think it’s super fun – all the work gives energy and is rewarding! But for Majorna VBK to keep its great play, club spirit, and continue as a club, we need more people to pitch in. If we have a good flow of people helping with different tasks, it will be easier and even more enjoyable for everyone.
In November, we had a two-day meeting with key people, coaches, and the board to set priorities for spring. Five focus groups were formed:
1. Facilities/Equipment/Bookings
2. Youth activities
3. Introduction for new coaches, players, and parents
4. Player/team development and retaining our youth
5. Creating engagement among parents and players
Get in touch if you can help!
Contact the board at majornavbk@gmail.com, me directly at +46 730-284303, or your respective coaches (who will inform the board). We’ll gladly tell you more about ways to get involved, such as our webshop, being a team parent, joining the board, working on the website, etc.
Together, we’ll make Majorna VBK even stronger!
